Sri Ashta-Lakshmi stotra is an appeal to the eight subordinate manifestations of Lakshmi and as the beloved of Madhusudana (Lord Krishna), that is, the wife of Lord Narayana (His internal energy).
These manifestations represent the various sources of wealth and abundance emanating from Sri Lakshmi.
In the context of Ashta-Lakshmi, this is prosperity, knowledge, health, strength, offspring, power, etc.
