
German Ace, Adolf Galland shot down 104 enemy planes in 705 sorties, all on the Western Front and was awarded with the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. He was himself shot down four times. He was captured by U.S forces on May 14th 1945 at an airbase in Salzburg, Austria. He later died on 9 Feb 1996.
