Gather that data!

Since July 2012, Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, in partnership with NOAA’s Marine Debris Program and the Office of Response and Restoration, has participated in the Marine Debris Monitoring and Assessment Project. Through the program, citizen scientists survey six beach locations on a monthly basis. The data they collect help researchers track the type, abundance, and distribution of debris on sanctuary shores while also protecting habitat through debris cleanup efforts. Many thanks to our volunteers!
