Four major Chinese smartphone makers (Huawei, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi) will purchase from LG Display panel organic light emitting diode (OLED) for its premium devices. This was reported by the newspaper BusinessKorea, citing industry sources.
According to them, on the orders Huawei, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi will have about 20-30 % of the production of OLED displays LG. Chinese vendors will release a handset with such screens next year.
It is noted that manufacturers from China began to order the OLED panel from LG Display in 2015. However, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi was never simultaneous clients of the South Korean company in this market.
The increase in orders was made possible after 2015 and 2016, LG Display has invested in the construction of production facilities at plants in South Korea. According to rough estimates, next year Huawei, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi will supply the world market with 10 to 15 million smartphones with OLED screens LG size of about 6 inches.
