In Europe, the growing competition in the market of charging stations for electric vehicles

In Europe began a real battle between companies for market leadership services for charging electric vehicles. The battle over how and where the Europeans will charge their electric cars, is expanding from the cities of the continent to its highways.

Energy companies, technology startups and oil companies compete for the opportunity to establish themselves as dominant players in the growing business for the production of charging stations and providing charging services to vehicles.

Dressing conventional gasoline and diesel vehicles on motorways has long been a prerogative of the oil companies who usually have their own network of petrol stations. But now we are talking about creating powerful networks of charging stations for electric vehicles, creating serious competition for limited space in the field of service stations on motorways.

When the maximum mileage of electric vehicles on a single charge of the battery was less than 100 km, in the cities of Europe have established cheap slow charging points in homes, offices and stores, often supported by government subsidies.

But now Tesla, Porsche and BMW produce electric cars powered by batteries for quite a high mileage for travel in Europe. And Daimler, and Volkswagen announced on the eve of the Frankfurt international motor show about its plans to accelerate the transition to production of electric vehicles.

Major market players such as ChargePoint and Engie, want to build across Europe a network of high-voltage rapid charging stations capable of replenishing the battery in less than half an hour, not for the whole night.

In turn, smaller companies, such as British startup InstaVolt, looking for other ways to realize their ambitions. InstaVolt leases the land from the operators of filling stations, bringing additional rental income, as well as the increase of the influx of shoppers on their sites. He earns a profit through the sale of electricity via charging stations.
