IDC summed up the results of researches of the world market of computer monitors in the second quarter of the current year: demand in the IT products category falls.

From April to June inclusive on a global scale, according to IDC, it sold approximately 28.5 million monitors. This is 6.4% less than last year’s result, when the market size is estimated at 30.5 million units.
The leading position holds Dell with 5.6 million panels shipped and a market share of 19.5 %. A year earlier, the company had approximately 17,1 % of the world market.
On the second line is the HP, realize nearly 4.0 million monitors. This corresponds to 13.9% of the market. For comparison: a year earlier, the company’s share amounted to 13.1 per cent.

“Bronze” went to Lenovo: for the three months this company has shipped around 2.8 million monitors, taking in the result of 9.9 % of the market. A year earlier the share was 10.1 percent.
This is followed by Samsung and LG with 2.7 million and 2.6 million raised panels and shares, respectively, for 9.3% and 9.1 %.

IDC notes that continue to gain popularity monitors with a curved display. In the second quarter, they accounted for 3.8% of total sales. The demand for such panel at an annual rate jumped to 52.5 %.
The greatest demand is for monitors with a size of 21.5-inch and 19.5 inch diagonal: their share of total sales, respectively 22,2 % and 11.6 %.
