The holding company “Russian space systems” (RKS), a member of the state Corporation “Roskosmos”, has initiated development in the Crimea space technologies. It is expected that this will improve the economy of the Peninsula.
RKS offers to create in the Crimea a continuous coating of high-precision navigation by combining stations of different manufacturers, owners and operators. This will greatly improve the efficiency of cadastral works, high-tech construction, will significantly simplify mining operations and navigation in coastal waters.
Precision navigation also needs to improve the security of critical facilities on the Peninsula. For example, developed in the RKS system high-precision monitoring of displacements of engineering structures allows to track the early stages to identify any bias, and variations in construction of bridges, dams, towers, pipelines and other structures.
GLONASS system, in turn, will help in the monitoring of public transport, ambulances, police, and school buses. Such data will help in planning for the construction and maintenance of roads.
In General, as suggested by the RCC, the implementation of space technologies in the Crimea will stimulate the economic development of the Peninsula in the sphere of tourism, agriculture and forestry, construction and transport. In addition, in the long term this will lead to the development of unmanned vehicles.
