Etrusian stele from Novilary

This text is devoted to the work of Antonin Horak, amateur crossword ancient scriptures and “Slavic nationalists” who tried to decipher the inscriptions Etruscan and the like, based on Slavic languages, and in 1991 published an utterly bizarre theory. In his book “The Slavs differently,” identifies the Neolithic peoples of Europe as Proto-Slavonic, speaking praslovansk language and found the effects in many different times in different places, for example, to Korea, Japan, and on Easter Island.

Well, it is no wonder that his work was off the table. The fact that Horak’s work is not known, knows about her, only a limited number of Czechs, Slovaks, and almost no one outside the former Czechoslovakia, has several reasons, among them the way they presented their work. These reasons in its complex causes that Horak is swept under the table, just like 15 years ago, although our current knowledge rather Horak recorded before he would be even more discredited. (Antonin Horak sadly died in 2004 at the age of 86 years, so has discussion will not participate.)

stele was found on the east coast of central Italy near the town of Pescara in Novilara, it is a sandstone gravestone stele, dating from the 6th century. BC. n l. is currently stored at the Museum “Luigi Pigorini” in Rome. The inscription, which is indicated on it is a 12-line and the language that is written is referred to as the Northern picenštinu. However, according to the translation it is the same language in which they were written and Etruscan inscriptions referred to in these pages. Here are a translation of your text from Novilarské stele.

Novilara stele, dating back to the 6th century BC. Written in a language known as North Picenština, is one of the longest and most famous writings, we have for the Etruscan period in Italy. Finding exact place is not known -is assumed that was found in the cemetery, anyway, not on the facade and so on. The area where the stele was found, not in the heart of Etruria, but was part of the so-called Italic areas that cover the entire western coast of Italy + Balkan Peninsula.

If you search the Internet  “Novilara stele” in the English version www.wikipedia.org – to learn that the inscription was not yet plausibly shelled a single word, and that the entire North Picenština is considered a non Indo-European language. Stele is written continuously, without spaces between words, making it difficult to decipher the text.

Antonin Horak offers his translation of the stele of Novilara that is meaningful and monothematic. I made a small statistic words Horak located, and came to the following numbers.

Stele has 12 lines. Burner divides the text to 66 words, some of which are repeated so that 57 words mutually different. Of these 57 words 51 words (89%) such that we can find a similar or the same word in the vocabulary of the Slavic languages. At the same time for all 51 “Slavic” word is true that their importance to the stele is similar or the same as the “source languages”.

And also among these 51 “Slavic” words are words of basic vocabulary, namely: I, we, he, what, how, nothing, all as so similar to today’s Slavonic languages that they understand native Bohemia. We’ve got six words, of which 3 are such that the burner is translated based on the knowledge of other inscriptions, where they occur in the same meaning and 3 words such that for them Horak has no explanation, but from the context, we estimate their approximate meaning.

Bottom line 66 words, 63 and 3 mean estimate of context.
