This fox is frozen in the ice of the frozen Danube near the Jägerhaus in Fridingen. Master Reineke had fallen on the thin ice of the Danube on December 9th 2016, and then drowned.
As a source of steadily warmer water is found near the site, the ice cover was too thin to carry the fox, said Jäger Franz Stehle of our newspaper. Stealing from Jägerhaus Fridingen has sawn the animal from the ice to discard it. Before this, it must thaw out of the ice block. However, the fox fur is no longer usable after the long time in the ice, Stehle says.
