Denia has lived its biggest snowfall since 1983.
In Torrevieja they did not see this snow for almost a century.
Today and tomorrow more snow is expected throughout the southeastern peninsular.
The cold wave that will begin this Tuesday and that at least will extend until Thursday “is not extraordinary”, but “it is not seen every year”, explained the meteorologist and blogger Angel Rivera. Rivera, former head of prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) and responsible for the blog ‘Eneltiempo-AngelRivera’ has noted that “not seen every day” that at 1,500 meters high are expected temperatures of -9 degrees Celsius “Although it is not of record, yes it is quite cold”.

From this Tuesday, the cold wave will leave warnings of extreme risk (red) by snowfall that will accumulate up to 50 centimeters of thickness in Pyrenees, although it will also snow in low levels of the southeast peninsular and in Baleares. This cold wave will be produced by the entrance of a very cold and dry mass of air of continental polar origin that will “collapse” the temperatures in much of the Peninsula and Baleares.
