‘Druid’s Circle’ Stone Circle, nr Penmaenmawr, North Wales, 11.4.18.
It’s been nearly two years since I visited this prehistoric site and yesterday I spent nearly six hours walking to get these photographs (I got lost on the heavy fog twice!). The first time was in glorious sunshine (Archive: September 2016). The stone circle appeared slowly through the murk and it proved an eerie and almost surreal location. Perched on the edge of high mountains and facing the sea (although none to be seen then), this atmospheric circle is part of a larger complex of stone rows, cairns and settlement remains. I spent about half an hour here before returning to the fog, moorlands and the intermittent wild pony who kept startling me in the mists.
