These stone structures differ from many megalithic buildings so that they are not collected from multiple blocks, and cut out of the rock or a huge stone.
Supposedly built during the 12th century AD, many of them could be used as a small home and small Christian chapel, in fact a small church, carved in stone.
Many inscriptions can be found on the Russian Cyrillic alphabet which is precisely related to the period after the 12th century.
It is not excluded that the inscriptions were made by those who adapted these structures under the religious needs after their builders of these stone structures left these lands, or killed.
However, the maximum age of such facilities in the Carpathians, no more than a thousand years.
Such buildings can be found not only in the forests of Romania, but also in the Ukrainian Carpathians, but these facilities are built one tribe.
