A spectacular, erotic ancient Roman fresco has been uncovered during new excavations at Pompeii, Massimo Osanna, the director of the archaeological site, told ANSA on Monday. The artwork portrays Jupiter taking the form of a swan to impregnate Spartan queen Leda.

The high quality fresco uncovered in a big house in the ancient city is rich in colour and highly explicit. “It’s an exceptional, unique find,” said Osanna.
