Part of the “Egerton Gospel,” a story about the life of Jesus from the second century that was discovered in the 1930s. This is one of many non-canonical gospels that circulated in the early Christian world but were not selected as holy scripture by the early church (the canon was formed in the 200s by church leaders). The surviving fragments of this gospel include partial tales of miracles (some of which are not present in the canonical gospels) and statements by Jesus.
